About the speaker: Moritz is a research associate in the group of Erik Gauger at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh (UK). He obtained his PhD with Vollrath Martin Axt in Bayreauth, Germany, and spent 3 years as a postdoc in Ottawa, hosted by Pawel Hawrylak, before moving to the UK. Moritz is an expert on modeling optical and transport properties of nanostructures, and currently he is doing theory research toward understanding and engineering dissipation in nanoscale quantum devices.
